Sundo - Yoga differences

Y ... In the typical yoga practice we hold the asana positions for a period of time and breath through the asanas. 

S ... In Sundo some yoga positions are used for stretching. 

The meditation breathing postures - the main part of the practice lasting 40 minutes - constitutes 25 positions, which are quite easy for the first level, so the attention can be focused on the breathing.

S ... Sundo consists of five different practice parts similar to a meal with different courses. The beginning stretching is more dynamic and soft, possibly like a "starter", the breathing meditation as the "main course" is deep and calm, while the last parts of the practice are like a "dessert". The ending exercises are relaxing, slightly dynamic and strengthening­, the internal organ exercises are energetically filling­, the strengthening exercises are activating, preparing for entering into life in full awarenes and a full energetic state. 

We do not leave the gym in a trance, but aware and full of energy.

J ... In yoga different types of breath are used, mainly full yoga breath.

S ... In sundo we breath in the lower abdomen. The focus is on the energetic activation in the lower dantien area and filling the lower dantien with energy. The practice is structured in a clever way, there are enough stretching exercises prior to the breathing meditation, and another portion of exercises following to distribute and integrate the energy into all parts of the body. The practice is very gradual and safe. Deep breathing in lower dantien area has a rooting and centering effect on the practitioner.
